Sacramento students make bowls to feed hungry
News

SACRAMENTO, CA - Students at Christian Brothers High School got up early Wednesday morning to create bowls for a good cause.

The students were in the ceramic studio at 6:15 a.m. molding and glazing clay bowls for River City Food Bank's upcoming Empty Bowls charity events.

The annual Empty Bowls events, on March 5th and 6th, are the food bank's most important fundraiser with a goal of $125 thousand this year to help families in need of emergency food. Guests can buy $30 or $60 tickets and attend either a soup lunch or dinner.

Each guest will be able to pick from a selection of hand made bowls to take home, a reminder of the many "empty bowls" in the Sacramento community.

The bowls are made and donated by local schools and professional design and art studios.
